ABOUT THE ARMY INSTITUTE OF LAW
The Army Institute of Law (AIL) was established in July 1999 by the Indian Army under the aegis of the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) at its interim location at Patiala. In July 2003, the Institute shifted to Sector 68, Mohali. The Institute is accredited grade ‘B’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
ABOUT NHRC
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) of India was established on October 12, 1993. It was established by the Protection of Human Rights Act (PHRA), 1993 as amended by the Protection of Human Rights (Amendment) Act, 2006.
The NHRC is an embodiment of India’s concern for the promotion and protection of human rights. Section 2(1)(d) of the PHRA defines Human Rights as the rights relating to life, liberty, equality, and dignity of the individual guaranteed by the Constitution or embodied in the International Covenants and enforceable by courts in India. It is in this background this competition is being launched.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
The prestigious AIL-NHRC National Moot Court Competition, hosted by Army Institute of Law will be held physically from 23rd to 25th January at the Army Institute of Law campus, Mohali.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Participation is restricted to bona-fide law students either enrolled in the 3-year law course or the 5-year integrated law course.
GENERAL RULES

Only one team from each participating college shall be registered for the competition. Each team shall comprise of either three members (two Speakers and one Researcher) or two members (two Speakers) only.

No faculty member, coach, observer, or a designated observer or fourth member is allowed to accompany the team, and neither will be allowed to join the teams during oral rounds.

The language for the Competition shall be English only.

The rounds shall comprise of- (i) Memorial Rounds (Memorial based selection) (ii) Octa/Quarter/Semi and Final Rounds (Offline Rounds)

Stay and Transportation shall be provided by the organizers for Oral rounds.

No change in the names of the participants shall be permitted unless the same has
been communicated to the organizers a week before the event in exceptional
circumstances (at the discretion of organizers). It will be only allowed if the participating college attaches due proof.

Registration Fee for Memorial based selection: Rs 1000/- (Non-refundable) for each participating team. The fee for Memo rounds to be submitted by 6th December, 2024 through online transaction by clicking on the link below this post

The scanned copy of the receipt of payment along with the duly filled registration form (attached with the brochure) should be sent on or before 6th December 2024 via e- mail ailnhrc2024@gmail.com : with the following details:

The fee for Oral round to be held at AIL Mohali is Rs 7500, to be paid by 3rd January 2025.
