About the Review
The Editorial Board of the NUALS Constitutional Studies Review is inviting submissions for the first issue of its first volume. NUALS Constitutional Studies Review, which is a publication of the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Law Reforms, is a student-edited, double blind peer-reviewed, open access law journal, that aims to promote discourse on Indian and comparative constitutional law, constitutional theory, and comparative politics while engaging with contemporary issues that shape these fields.

Categories and Word Limits

Long Articles – 5000 – 10,000 words

Case Notes and Legislative Comments: 1500 — 3000 words

Essays: 3000 — 5000 words
Note: Speaking footnotes, if any must be limited to 50 words.
Articles exceeding the word limit may be considered on merit, solely at the discretion of the editorial board.

Submissions are to be made only in electronic form and must be made via a Google form which can be accessed here.

The last date for submissions to be considered is September 15, 2024. The issue shall be published latest by February, 2025. All submissions made after September 15, 2024 will be considered for Volume 1 Issue 2.

All submissions must contain an abstract of not more than 250 words, accompanying the article. The abstract ought to be contained within the manuscript. Kindly refrain from sending abstracts in a separate word document.

By submitting an article, the author undertakes that the article is an original work and has not been submitted, accepted or published elsewhere.

Plagiarism will result in summary rejection of the submission.

A manuscript that is submitted shall not have more than two authors.

Authors will be provided updates on the status of their manuscripts after each stage of the editorial process. However, the finality of publication will be based on an evaluation of the fully-formatted manuscript.
Formatting Guidelines

All submissions must follow the OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) 4th edition style of citation.

The body of the manuscript may be in Times New Roman, font size 12 with double line spacing. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, font size 10 with single line spacing.

Submissions must be made in .doc/.docx formats only.

The documents must be devoid of any identification markers. E.g., the name of the author after the title or in metadata. Any identification markers within the manuscript will result in summary rejection.
Blog (Rolling Submissions)
About the NUALS Constitutional Studies Review Blog
The NUALS Constitutional Studies Review Blog invites submissions on a rolling basis throughout the calendar year from members of the bar, legal professionals, law students, or others interested in publishing with us.
To submit a piece, mail us the manuscript along with an abstract (100-150 words) to csr@nuals.ac.in, and a cover letter stating name, college and year of study of the author(s). In case the author is a professional, mention a brief introduction.

Submissions are to be made only in electronic form and must be sent to csr@nuals.ac.in, under the subject “NUALS CSR — Journal Submission”.

All submissions must contain the following:

The manuscript in a .doc or .docx format. The manuscript should not contain the name of the author, their institutional affiliations, or any other identification markers.

A covering letter with the name(s) of the author(s), institution/affiliation, the title of the manuscript, and contact information.

An abstract of not more than 150 words.

General Guidelines

All submissions should be original, unpublished, and should not have plagiarized content.

NUALS Constitutional Studies Review has an exclusive submission policy. By submitting the manuscripts to NUALS Constitutional Studies Review, the author(s) confirms that the manuscript has not been simultaneously sent to another journal for publication (online or print), until they have received a decision from us.

Submission should not be more than 1500 words (exclusive of footnotes). However, speaking footnotes must be limited to 50 words.

The manuscript should contain only footnotes (and not endnotes) as a method of citation. Citations must conform to OSCOLA (Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities) (4th edition) style of citation.
