CARTAL Conference

The Centre for Advanced Research & Training in Arbitration Law (CARTAL) is pleased to announce the 8th edition of the CARTAL Conference on International Arbitration. SCC Times joins us on board as “Media Partner” for this edition.

The theme of this year’s Conference is “Arbitration Horizons: Evolution, Challenges, and Strategies in a Dynamic World” and will be held from March 30-31, 2024 at National Law University, Jodhpur. The details of the conference are provided below:

  • Panel 1 – Navigating Arbitration in India: Unveiling Challenges and Mitigation Strategies (Saturday, March 30).

  • Panel 2 – Beyond the Final Whistle: A Playbook for Sports Arbitration Success (Saturday, March 30).

  • Panel 3 – Strategic Approaches to Securing Interim Reliefs: Interplay between Judicial System and Arbitral Tribunal (Sunday, March 31).

We have received confirmation of attendance from the world’s leading international arbitration practitioners and academicians as panellists, such as Former Justice R.S. Chauhan, Mr. Nusrat Hassan, Mr. Gianpaolo Moneteneri, Mr. Niraj Modha, Mr. Shashank Garg, Ms. Namrata Chatterjee, Mr. John Boultbee, amongst others.

This is an exciting opportunity for us to invite you to immerse yourself in the cultural and historical marvels of Jodhpur, including the Mehrangarh Fort and Umaid Bhawan Palace, showcasing the lavish lifestyle of the Rajputana royalty and, the vibrant Ghanta Ghar market which is home to quintessential Rajasthani fashion. The city also provides a beautiful backdrop for our “Networking Dinner,” which is sure to serve as a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded academicians, practitioners, and students attending the Conference.

REGISTRATION PROCESS

All participants may either register as students, or as practitioners and can be present at the event and virtually as well.

The categories for registration are as follows —

  1. Offline Students & Research Scholars: INR 4,000/- (inclusive of accommodation and food arrangements)

  2. Offline Professionals & Academicians: INR 6,000/- (inclusive of accommodation and food arrangements)

  3. Virtual Participation: INR 1,200/-

Registration as a Student

Step 1 — Payment of Registration Fee: The registration fee for practitioners is INR 4,000, which includes accommodation, food arrangements, and keynote speeches which shall encompass information for the students interested in graduate schemes with the firms, among other things. The payment for registration may be made through the link provided below: http://www.nlujodhpur.ac.in/nlu-fees/.

Step 2 — Filling the Registration Form: Post the payment, kindly fill the google form which can be accessed from here.

Registration as a Practitioner

Step 1 — Payment of Registration Fee: The registration fee for practitioners is INR 6,000, which includes accommodation and food arrangements and a Networking Dinner with the panellists. The payment for registration may be made through the link provided below: https://nlujodhpur.ac.in/university/fee-deposit.

Step 2 — Filling the Registration Form: Post the payment, kindly fill the google form which can be accessed from here.

Registration as a Virtual Participant

Step 1 — Payment of Registration Fee: The registration fee for practitioners is INR 1200. The payment for registration may be made through the link provided below: https://nlujodhpur.ac.in/university/fee-deposit.

Step 2 — Filling the Registration Form: Post the payment, kindly fill the google form which can be accessed from here.
