About the Competition:

The Competition is a one of its kind endeavor launched by the NLIU Law Review to foster the learning of practical aspects relating to the Law of Contracts. It provides a chance to the students of the legal discipline to showcase their skills before experienced academicians and working professionals. Getting the opportunity to delve into a niche legal problem, the participating students will get hands-on experience in transactional drafting, which forms an important facet in learning law.

About the Journal:

The NLIU Law Review is the flagship journal of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. It is a double-blind, peer-reviewed academic law journal, published biannually by the students of the University, which aims to inculcate a culture of academic research and writing among students and serves as an important forum for discourse on contemporary and pressing legal issues. As of the year 2024, the Law Review has completed fourteen successful years, with twenty-two editions in publication.

Eligibility:

  • Students currently pursuing their Undergraduate Degree in law or Postgraduate Degree i.e. 3-year LL.B. course, 5-year LL.B. course or LL.M. are eligible to participate.

  • Individual participation as well as co-authorship (up to two authors) is allowed.

  • There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university.

Important Dates:

  • Release of Competition Brochure: 14 February 2024

  • Release of Contract Proposition: 15 February 2024

  • Closure of Registrations: 03 March 2024

  • Submission Deadline: 08 March 2024

  • Release of Top 15 Entries: 16 March 2024

  • Phase II of the Event: 30 March, 2024

  • Winner(s) – Cash prize of INR 25,000/-

  • Runner(s) – up – Cash prize of INR 15,000/-

  • Second Runner(s) – up – Cash prize of INR 10,000/-

  • Best Overall Submission – Cash prize of INR 3,000/-

  • Internship Opportunities at the EBC Office (Delhi/ Lucknow)

  • Publication of Three Best Concept Notes in the NLIU Law Review Blog, subject to review and revision by the NLR Team.

  • Certificate of Merit to Top Performers and the Top Fifteen Entries.

  • Certificate of Participation to all participants.

  • Complimentary Half-yearly Subscription to EBC Learning worth ₹18,000 to the Top Performers.

  • Other exciting awards and opportunities to be announced soon.

Registration:

  • Fee for single authored entries: INR 250/

  • Fee for co-authored entries: INR 400/-

  • Note — A maximum of 2 authors are allowed for co-authored entries
