Warm greetings from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell at Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur!

After the tremendous success of the 1st edition of the National Med-Arb Competition in March 2023, we are thrilled to extend an invitation to your esteemed institution for the much-anticipated 2nd National Med-Arb Competition 2024, scheduled to take place from March 2nd to 3rd at the vibrant campus of Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

Our Mediation-Arbitration (“Med Arb”) Competition is designed to immerse students in the art of resolving disputes efficiently while highlighting the advantages of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms. This event serves as a dynamic platform for legal enthusiasts to demonstrate their proficiency in mediation and arbitration, vital skills in the ever-evolving field of dispute resolution. As we strive to become an internationally recognized competition, this year’s edition promises an unparalleled experience.

Collaborating with top law firms and chambers in India, and the best of the best of those in the profession in India, Symbiosis Law School Nagpur aims to make this competition a benchmark for excellence.

FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION:

All competing teams shall participate in Preliminary Round 1 & 2 after which top scorers shall proceed to Semi-Final rounds and the Final round accordingly.

All the teams must participate in both the sessions (Mediation Session followed by an Arbitration Session) in all the rounds.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  1. Each participating team shall consist of 3 members and all the members of the team shall be from the same institute itself. No Cross Institutional Team is allowed to take part in the competition. Only one team from a college can represent their college.

  2. Composition for Mediation Round: A Team shall comprise of 3 members a Mediator and a Mediating Pair; the Mediating Pair shall consist of a Counsel and a Client

  3. Composition for Arbitration Round: The Arbitration Round(s) shall constitute 4 Counsels (The Client-Counsel Team viz. the Mediating Pair, in the Mediation Round, shall be acting as the Pair of Counsels in the Arbitration Round

REGISTRATION DETAILS:

To participate, kindly follow our two-step registration process: Provisional Registration and Final Registration.

The registration fee is set at Rs. 8,000 per team, covering accommodation and food.

ELIGIBILITY:

Bonafide students pursuing L.L.B. three/five-year degrees from Law Colleges/Universities recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 28/01/2024

  • Announcement of Selected Teams: 30/01/2024

  • Last Date for Final Registration and Payment: 03/02/2024
