The 12th edition of INADR, the annual mediation competition of the National Law Institute University Bhopal, is being organized from 22nd March 2024 to 24th March 2024.
About National Law Institute University:
The National Law Institute University is the third NLU to be established in the country. It was established by Professor V.S. Rekhi in the year 1997 and has proven to be a true centre of excellence ever since, creating the best of the legal minds in the country.
About the Alternate Dispute Resolution Cell, NLIU:
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Cell, established in 2007 is one of the oldest ADR Committees in Asia and has been hosting Asia’s oldest as well as India’s largest Mediation Tournament, ‘The NLIU INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament, since 2012. The ADRC believes in a “learning beyond the 4 walls of the classroom” approach and encourages students to participate in arbitration, mediation, and negotiation agreements, in order to develop important skills required in the real world.
About the tournament:
Since its inception in 2007, the vision of ADRC has been to disseminate knowledge relating to Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms and create a platform for like minded and zealous individuals to come together to revolutionize the process of dispute settlement. This goal became a reality in 2012 with the Cell organizing Asia’s oldest as well as India’s largest Mediation Tournament, the “NLIU INADR International Law School Mediation Tournament”. With each successive year, we have witnessed participation from all National Law Schools and premier private law schools of the country besides Universities in United States, Australia and parts of Europe. The competition aims to provide an opportunity for students to be a part of disputes akin to actual altercations witnessed by legal professionals. It further presents an opportunity to hone the requisite communication and mediation skills in addition to holding discussions with equally enthusiastic professionals and students in the field. The nuanced feedback offered by our judges with years of experience allows the participants to assess and enhance their performance. The judges, who are highly revered professionals, also bring in diverse opinions owing to their international cohort.
