About RGNUL

The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a law university of national stature in Punjab, thereby fulfilling the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalisation and liberalization

In May 2015, the University became the first and only NLU to get accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade. In 2018, RGNUL was amongst the four NLUs to have been granted autonomous status by the University Grants Commission. The University has been ranked among the top 10 law schools in India under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The University is currently emphasizing on research, training, and consultancy in various of contemporary legal interests and envisages to be a research-internsive university in times to come.

About RGNUL Moot Court Committee

The RGNUL Moot Court Committee is one of the most prominent and active committees. For the purpose of fostering a mooting culture at our University and providing participants with a stage to demonstrate their advocacy, the University hosts numerous moot court competitions. In addition to moots, the committee conducts a number of comparable events designed to foster a healthy culture of mooting. We as a committee are responsible for assisting the students of RGNUL in understanding research, drafting, and advocacy skills by giving them the necessary exposure. The University also has a thriving mooting culture, with students consistently winning national and international competitions each year.
