About Gujarat National Law University

Gujarat National Law University is a premier national law university established in 2003 with the aim of promoting excellence in legal education as well as legal research. Its unique research-based teaching methodology focuses on encouraging students to think independently. Since its inception, the University has been holding regular in-house moot court competitions, after which meritorious students are sent across country as well as abroad for participating in moot court competitions. The college organizes two moots a year- the GNLU International Moot Court Competition (currently in its 11th edition), and the GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law.

About GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law

The field of Securities and Investment Law has witnessed rapid advancements in the past decade, and the growing complexities of financial markets have given rise to new interpretative challenges. Since its establishment in 2015, GNLUMSIL, being India’s first and only moot court competition in this niche area of law, has garnered praise for providing a platform to students to be able to simulate challenges faced by the Indian capital markets, and at the same time, offering them an invigorating opportunity for research and learning in the domain of Indian securities and investment regulation.

The 6th edition of GNLUMSIL witnessed participation from 32 teams from various law schools across the country. In continuation of our legacy, with an aim to set higher standards to test the legal acumen, research and oratory skills of the participating teams, Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar cordially invites you to the 7th edition of GNLUMSIL, scheduled to be held from October 5-8, 2023.
