About The SUN LAW JOURNAL

It is the flagship journal of the School of Law, Sandip University, Nashik, Maharashtra. It is an annual double-blind peer reviewed journal providing an extensive platform to academicians, practitioners, researchers, judges and jurists, and students to assimilate exchange and extend their ideas to facilitate the debate on contemporary legal issues through their scholarly articles and research papers. The journal assumes an inter-disciplinary orientation and is wide enough to include national as well as international legal and policy-based issues within its sweep.

Categories of Submission

Research Papers: 4,500 to 8,000 words

Case Comments/ Legislative Comments and Notes: 1,800 to 3,000 words

Articles and Essays: 3000 to 6000 words

Book Reviews: 1,500 to 2,500 words

Word limits are exclusive of footnotes.

The Editors may, however, accept longer submission in appropriate cases.

Theme: Open ended inviting contemporary issues on Constitution, Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Arbitration, Intellectual Property, etc

Submission Deadlines:

Last Date for Submission of Abstract: 20th December 2022

Communication of Acceptance of Abstract: 5th January 2023

Last date for Final Submission of Full Paper: 20th February 2023

Communication of Acceptance of full paper: 5th March 2023

Submission Guidelines:

  • Submissions must be in electronic form sent via email to SUNLAWJOURNAL@sandipuniversity.edu.in

  • The word limit for the Abstract is 300 words accompanied with 5 keywords .

  • The submission shall not contain the name of the author or institutional affiliation or any other identification mark (except in cover letter). Submission shall be sent in .doc or .docx format only.

  • A separate cover letter in (.doc) or (.docx) format containing following particulars of the author(s) is to be sent along with the submission:

    a) Title of Submission, b) Name of the Author and Co-Author(s), c) Designation, d) Institutional Affiliation, e) Contact Information and Address for Correspondence.

  • Co-authorship: Co-Authorship of up to two authors is permitted

Formatting Styles

  • Font must be Times New Roman and sized 12 for the main text, and 10 for footnotes.

  • Line Spacing must be 1.5 for main text and 1.0 for footnotes.

  • Alignment must be justified.

  • Headings: The heading should be used as per the following style:

    First heading: 12pt, Bold Centre, Second heading: 12pt, Bold Left aligned, Third heading 12pt, Italics left.

  • Citation Style: Harvard Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (20th Edition).

Publication Policy:

  • The Submissions must be original and should not be under consideration in any other journal.

  • Plagiarism up to 15% is permissible. The author(s) shall also submit a declaration of originality with their submission.

  • Submission of work indicates that the authors grant exclusive permission to SUN Law Journal to publish and reproduce their work in all streams of media.

  • The editors reserve the right to delete or edit any article or part there of whose content is found to be offensive, defamatory, outrightly unethical, or if it is suggestive of racism, sexual or religious discrimination, illegal or terror activities etc.

  • Double- blind peer review process will be followed to scrutinize all the submissions.

  • The mere submission shall not confer any claim for publication.
