The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has notified the Fertilizer (Inorganic, Organic or Mixed) (Control) Sixth Amendment Order, 2021 on September 21, 2021. The Order lays out the procedure, method of calculation and precautions to be followed for determination of zinc, lead, magnesium, arsenic, PH, DTPA soluble zin in fertilizers.
The Order provides that the tests shall be taken out in pure chemicals and distilled water. Pure chemicals shall mean chemicals that do not contain impurities which affect the results of analysis. De-mineralised water means the water obtained after passing distilled water through a cation and an anion exchange resins or a combined catenation exchange resin.
