Greetings from the Model United Nations Society of School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru! We hope this email finds you in good health.

It gives us immense joy to announce that the 9th Edition of the School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) International Model United Nations Conference will be conducted from the 29th of January, 2021 to the 31st of January, 2021 on the virtual platform Zoom.

In these unprecedented times, we must work with unparalleled vigour and discipline to ensure the safety of ourselves and our loved ones. The COVID-19 pandemic has not only caused a shift in daily life but has also unveiled the brutal and uncompromising truth of the world – a truth that is up to us to change. Through competitive debate, blazing innovation and tactical collaboration, we hope to be a part of this change.

The School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) International Model United Nations is known to be one of the oldest and most consistent Model United Nations Conferences held in Southern India, with its 1st edition taking place in the year 2013. It has had a steep growth in terms of popularity, prestige and participation, and this year we hope to continue upholding this legacy. SLCUMUN aims to promote holistic growth and development, through intellectual and interpersonal advancements which lays emphasis on the selfless sharing of knowledge, critical thinking skills and resilient strength of character.

Delegate Applications to the conference will take place in two phases: Early Bird Phase which closes on 04th January 2021 and the General Application Phase which will open on 05th January 2021 and close on 28th January 2021.

Adhering to the history of SLCUMUN, the proposed committees and their agendas for this upcoming edition of the conference are as follows:

1. United Nations General Assembly Special Political & Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL)

Agenda: Growing militarisation of space.

2. United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW)

Agenda: Achievement of gender equality through the empowerment of women by inclusion in fiscal policy and promotion gender inclusive financing.

3. Continuous Crisis Committee (CCC)

Agenda: Addressing the situation in Libya.

4. United Nations Security Council (UNSC)

Agenda: Reviewing the political and military situation in Syria, in the context of recent briefings by the Special Envoy of the Secretary General.

5. United Nations on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

Agenda: Exploring the contours of Diplomatic and Comparative measures to break down intrinsic and extrinsic links between Transnational Organized Crime and Drug Trafficking.

6. All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM)

Agenda: (i) Methods to enhance the law and ordermechanism with special focus on measures to counter terrorism at the state level.

(ii) Review of Indian Agriculture Sector in light of recent events.

(iii) Reserve- Discussion on the implementations and modus of one nation one    election.
