A team from Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA – consisting of Ms. Purnima Mathur, Ms. Diksha Joshi and Ms. Amira Dhawan, participated and ranked ‘Second’ in the Asia-Pacific rounds of the 18th Red Cross International Humanitarian Law Moot, organised by the Hong Kong Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in the months of July to August, 2020.

The team also won the Best Memorial-Defence award, competing against 23 teams from countries across East Asia,Southeast Asia and the Pacific Rim.

The team was invited to participate after winning the National as well as the South-Asia Regional Rounds of the competition, held in September 2019 and December 2019, respectively. The moot problem was based on ‘Difference of War Crimes and Crime Against Humanity’ and was being adjudicated by the ICC.

The team shall now compete in the Advanced Rounds.
