The Centre for Maritime Law, National Law University Odisha is elated to welcome on board three eminent speakers for an interactive webinar on ‘Dimensions and Opportunities in Maritime Law’. The session, in particular, will dive in the theme of experiences and practicalities involved in Maritime Law, and the academic and research areas related to the field.

About the Speakers

[1]   Advocate (Capt.) Alex Antony

A  master mariner with years of sea-going experience and, also an accomplished maritime law practitioner as well as maritime academician, Captain Antony completed his LL.M. programme from Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Panangad, Kochi in 2018. He is also an accredited Mediator and a certified Arbitrator from the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation.

[2]   Ms Pratikalpa Sharma

Assistant Professor (Research) at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, Ms. Sharma is an ardent maritime law academician with a penchant for in-depth research in contemporary Maritime topics. She has won accolades for her extensive research in the Maritimedomain and is a renowned expert on the IMO 2020. She has been involved in research on Resource Mining and Law of the Sea, IMO 2020 Sulphur Cap mandate, the Maritime Manual of India to name a few. She is the faculty editor for three Journals.

 [3]   Mr Aishwarye Dubey

An alumnus of NLU Odisha (2011-2016 Batch), Mr Dubey has recently completed his LL.M (Maritime Laws) and has worked in Maersk Line, which is the world leader in Containerised Shipping. He is systematically trained in the practical commercial functioning of Bills of Lading, Charter parties, United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Marine Insurance, Law of Shipping Contracts and Law of Maritime Dispute Resolution/ADR.
