The 5th SLCU National Trial Advocacy & Judgement Writing Competition 2019 was conducted by the Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee of School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) from 13 December 2019 – 15 December 2019.

Eastern Book Company Pvt. Ltd. & SCC Online were the Knowledge Partners for this event.

The event was conducted over a period of three days having preliminary rounds, quarter-final round, semi-final round and the final round. The competition witnessed 12 law colleges across the nation take part in it.The problem was drafted in a manner which tested the abilities of the teams with respect to law and procedure.

Inauguration:

The inauguration of the 5th SLCU National Trial Advocacy & Judgement Writing Competition was conducted on 13 January 2019 was graced by Shri Chandrashekhar Patil, Former District and Sessions Judge.

Final Rounds:

The Final Round of the competition was judged by a panel of judges comprising of Hon’ble Mr Justice NK Sudhindrarao, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Hon’ble Miss Justice JyothiMulimani, Judge, High Court of Karnataka and Shri VM Sheelavant, State Public Prosecutor, Government of Karnataka.The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Mr Justice PS Dinesh Kumar, Judge, High Court of Karnataka.
