The Center for Criminal Law of National University of Study and Research, Ranchi Please announced the opening of Essay entries to the first Edition of Hon’ble Justice S.B. Sinha Memorial National Essay Competition, 2019.
The Center for Criminal Law was established in 2017 to study the Contemporary issues and challenges in Criminal Law. Center for Criminal Law has been one of the most active academics societies in the area of Criminal Law in NUSRL.
Hon’ble Justice Satya Brata Sinha (Supreme Court Judge- from 2002-2009) was a man of few words. But he spoke verbosely through his judgments, arbitration awards, and legal opinion. Post retirement Hon’ble Justice Sinha was appointed as the chairman of Telecom Disputes Settlement (TDSAT) succeeding Justice Arun Kumar who retired in September, 2009. He is remembered for his contributions through landmark judgments and to recognize the contribution of this great luminary, the Center for Criminal Law has decided to conduct the first edition of the national essay competition.
Theme of the Competition: Economic Offences in India
Participants are free to choose the title of their Essay.
Length of the Essay: 3500 words, inclusive of footnotes.
Footnotes Style: 20th Edition (Bluebook)

Prize Money: A total prize of worth Rs. 5,000 along with Certificate of Merit would be given to the 1st Rank Holder.
Last date of Submission: 15th December, 2019.
