Amity Law School, Noida is pleased to announce the Second Edition of the Amity National Alternative Dispute Redressal Tournament. In its first edition, this event was a composition of four competitions viz. Mediation-Arbitration Competition, Negotiation Competition, Client Counselling Competition, and Arbitral Award Writing Competition. From our experiences from the first edition, we have decided to merge the Mediation-Arbitration Competition and the Arbitral Award Writing Competition. The effect of this change will be that the participant who will act as the arbitrator will also write an award after the proceedings. This will encourage a practical approach for the participants. This is the first time a participant will be writing an award for the proceedings that will be undertaken during the Competition.

This will be a 2-day event. It is a unique initiative aimed at providing a platform to students from across the globe to learn and hone their alternative dispute resolution skills in cross-cultural settings.

The brief of the events is as follows:

Med-Arb & Arbitral Award Writing Competition – It is a hybrid of Mediation and Arbitration. Each team will consist of 2 participants. A neutral party is adopted for mediation and if failed the party must go to Arbitration. Pursuant to the arbitral proceedings, the Arbitrator will also write an Arbitral Award based on the proceedings.

Negotiation competition – Each team will consist of 2 participants one will be the attorney and the other being the client, who will negotiate with the differing party in the most adept manner.

Client Counselling Competition – Each team shall consist of two members. The Competition simulates a law office consultation in which two law students, acting as lawyers are presented with a hypothetical dispute brought before them by a client-actor.

Also, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with the Eastern Book Company and the participants will have complete access to the SCC Online web resources, amongst other benefits. We will also be updating the SCC Online blog with live feeds directly from the event. Please do keep checking in regularly to follow the event!

The registration starts at 0830 Hours tomorrow.

Stay Tuned.
