Lucknow University Inter Collegiate Moot Court Competition 2026

Three-day 12th Inter-Collegiate Moot Court Competition, organized by the Lucknow University Moot Court Association (LUMA) from April 3 to 5, 2026, was successfully conducted and concluded.

The competition was inaugurated at the Justice Dr. A.S. Anand Moot Court Hall in the presence of Chief Guest Prof. Dr. C.P. Singh, Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. D.N.N.S. Yadav, and Prof. Ashok Kumar Sonkar. A total of 37 teams from various institutions participated in the competition.

The first day featured the trophy unveiling ceremony, a researcher test, and memorial exchange. On the second day, the preliminary rounds and quarterfinals were conducted, where participants showcased excellent advocacy skills and strong legal reasoning.

On the final day, the semi-final and final rounds were held, which were adjudicated by Advocate Ms. Pushpila Bisht, Mr. P.S. Mehra, and Mr. Shailendra Singh Rajawat.The moot problem was based on the Judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court which mandated 3 year practice rule. The final verdict in the final round favoured the ruling passed by Supreme Court making it mandatory to practice at least for three year rule as must. However the verdict noted the rule must not apply retrospectively.

As per the results, the team from City College, comprising Om Mishra, Supriya Mishra, and Veer Pratap Singh, emerged as the winners. The runner-up position was secured by the team from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, consisting of Ashlesha Srivastava, Garima, and Palak Sharma. The award for Best Speaker was conferred upon Vanshika (Central Law College), while Anshika Rani (Shri Ram Swaroop Memorial University) was awarded Best Researcher. The Best Memorial Award was presented to the team comprising Ankur Vishwakarma, Nitin Rajput, and Veenarma Agrawal. Additionally, the Best First-Year Team award was given to Shivranjani Pundir, Aashri Pandey, and Garima Singh from Lucknow University.

The valedictory ceremony was attended by the Head & Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, Prof. Ramesh Kumar Verma, along with other faculty members. The event was conducted under the guidance of Faculty Co-Ordinator Dr. Chandra Sen Pratap Singh and Co-

Cordinator Dr. Archana Singh. The competition concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Convener Mr. Utkarsh Sharma, formally marking the successful completion of the event.
