The President appoints Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak and Justice Puthichira Sam Koshy as Acting Chief Justices of the Delhi, Gujarat and Telangana High Courts under Article 223 of the Constitution.
The President has appointed Justices Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Sunita Agarwal and Aparesh Kumar Singh as Judges of the Supreme Court, following the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendations dated 28 September 2026.
If the latest recommendations are approved by the Centre, this will not only bring the number of closer to the sanctioned strength of 38 Judges, but it will also increase the number of women Judges in the Bench.
Hailing from a family of Judges, Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh served as a Judge and Acting Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court prior to being appointed as Chief Justice of Tripura High Court.
