Gujarat Uniform Civil Code, 2026: Gujarat introduces uniform framework for marriage, divorce, succession and live-in relationships
The Government of Gujarat has introduced the Gujarat Uniform Civil Code, 2026, establishing a uniform legal framework governing marriage, divorce, succession, inheritance, wills, probate, and live-in relationships for residents of Gujarat, irrespective of religion, while excluding Scheduled Tribes and persons whose customary rights are protected under Part XXI of the Constitution.
