New Delhi | April 2nd, 2026: Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) acted as legal counsel to Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) in relation to its joint venture with CEID Consultants & Engineering Private Limited (CEID) for the development of compressed biogas (CBG) plants and biofuel projects in India.
The joint venture envisages a 50:50 equity participation between IGL and CEID and is aimed at establishing sustainable energy infrastructure in line with India’s clean energy transition goals. The collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of biofuel capabilities and reduce dependency on conventional fossil fuels.
This transaction reflects the growing momentum in India’s bioenergy sector and highlights the increasing role of strategic partnerships in advancing sustainable infrastructure development.
