The 11th Edition of the Symbiosis Law School Parliamentary Debate will be hosted by Symbiosis Law School, Pune, from 27 February to 1 March 2026. Over the course of its previous editions, SLSPD has developed into a well-established university-level parliamentary debating tournament, recognised for its consistent standards of organisation and competition. The tournament has come to occupy a stable position within the Indian parliamentary debating calendar, attracting sustained interest from institutions across the country and abroad.
Organised by Symbiosis Law School, Pune, a constituent of Symbiosis International Deemed University, SLSPD has developed into a platform that encourages students to engage seriously with ideas, arguments, and opposing viewpoints. By bringing together participants from a range of universities, SLSPD enables academic exchange beyond individual institutions and contributes to a wider culture of debate within Indian higher education.
Previous editions of the tournament have seen a strong and sustained turnout, with participation from esteemed debating societies including New York University Abu Dhabi, the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Hyderabad, and the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, National University of Judicial Sciences, Kolkata, Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow, Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, National Law Institute University, Bhopal, Hidaytulla National Law University, Raipur, and Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam among others. The presence of such institutions has contributed to the competitive depth of the tournament and reinforced its credibility within the university debating circuit.
