SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law (PGCL) is pleased to announce the 14th Edition of the Nyayavalokan: Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition, 2025-26 to be held from 22nd January to 25th January, 2026.

About PGCL:

At the very outset, SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law (PGCL) (5 – Year Course) was established in the year 2004 and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. PGCL is an institution that reckons in creating and curating a generation of lawyers that pioneer ground-breaking changes in the legal labyrinth.

About PGCL 13th Edition of Nyayavlokan Trial Advocacy & Judgment Writing Competition,2024-25

The National Trial Advocacy Competition is organized by the Moot Court Society of SVKM’s Pravin Gandhi College of Law. The three-day event commenced with an inauguration ceremony graced by the esteemed presence of Public Prosecutor, Shri Rajpurohit as the chief guest. His participation brought a transformative energy, inspiring both the participants and the audience alike. In our 13th Edition, Justice(Rtd) C.V. Bhadang and Justice (Rtd) Y.V. Ganoo presided over the final rounds. The team from ILS Law School, Pune lifted the Winning Trophy and the team from School of Law CHRIST, Banglore secured the Runners Up position. The Trial Problem for our flagship event was drafted by skilled professionals in the field with an expertise of over 20 years.

About PGCL 14th Edition National Trial Advocacy & Judgment Writing Competition, 2025-26

Nyayavlokan, the flagship event of PGCL, is renowned as a one-of-a-kind competition in the country. PGCL was among the first institutions in India to introduce the National Trial Advocacy Competition, offering students a unique opportunity to gain exposure and hands-on experience in realistic criminal trial proceedings. Our goal is to create an environment that closely mirrors the dynamics of an actual criminal trial, providing participants with an immersive and experiential learning platform. Each year, 24 distinguished colleges nominate up to 100 students to take part in this prestigious event.

Over the course of the 3-day event, participants undergo five intensive rounds of evaluation. The preliminary rounds are overseen by 48 Criminal advocates, while 12 distinguished senior counsels judge the quarterfinals and semifinals. The final round is presided over by a retired Justice of the Bombay High Court, ensuring the highest standard of assessment by experienced criminal advocates.

Dates of the Event:

22nd January to 25th January, 2025.

Eligibility:

Any law college within the territory of India, which provides either a 5-year course or 3-year course or LLM, that is recognized by the Bar Council of India is eligible to participate. Registration are on a first-come-first-serve basis. No more than one team will be eligible to register from one college.
