1st Arun Jaitley National ADR Competition 2025

The 1st Arun Jaitley National Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Competition, 2025 is a prestigious national mediation event launching the Arun Jaitley ADR Competition Series. Organized by the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at the 5-Year Integrated Law Course (ILC), Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Shri Arun Jaitley Foundation, this competition aims to enhance skills in mediation, negotiation, and dispute resolution among law students throughout India. The inaugural edition centers on mediation, with subsequent competitions expected to spotlight other aspects of ADR.

3. About the Institution: Established in 1924, the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is one of India’s most prestigious legal institutions, known for its academic rigour, eminent faculty, and vibrant intellectual environment. The launch of the 5-Year Integrated Law Course (ILC) has further strengthened its legacy, offering two premier honours programmes- B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)

About the Competition: The 1st Arun Jaitley National ADR Competition, 2025 on mediation heralds the commencement of a landmark initiative- the Arun Jaitley ADR Competition Series, a visionary initiative aimed at advancing the practice and understanding of Alternative Dispute Resolution in India. Organised by the Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at the Integrated Law Course (ILC), Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Shri Arun Jaitley Foundation, this flagship event brings together law students from across the country to engage in the nuanced field of mediation.

5. Eligibility:

·Open to law colleges/universities recognised by the Bar Council of India

·Bona fide students of 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes (current academic year)

·Maximum of two teams per institution; no cross-institutional teams allowed

6. Registrations: Shortlisted teams are required to complete the Registration Process by duly filling the Registration Form on or before 14th September 2025,, 11:59 PM, and are required to pay the registration fees of Rs. 4500.

The early bird registration fee is Rs. 3,068 (inclusive of 18% GST), which is applicable if the registration form is filled by 7th September 2025, 11:59 PM. Post this date and time till 14th September 2025, 11:59 PM, the regular registration fee of Rs. 4,500 (inclusive of 18% GST) will be applicable.

7. Mode of the Competition: The competition is going to be held in hybrid mode, whereby the Inaugural and the Preliminary rounds 1 and 2 shall be conducted virtually, while the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and the Final rounds of the competition shall be held physically on-campus.

8. Prizes:

·Winning Mediating Pair- Rs. 50,000+Trophy+Certificate of Merit

·Runners-Up Mediating Pair- Rs. 25,000+Trophy+Certificate of Merit

·Best Mediator- Rs. 15,000+Trophy+Certificate of Merit

·Runners-Up Mediator- Rs. 10,000+Trophy+Certificate of Merit

·Participation Certificate will be provided to all participants

Registration- 10.08.2025 to 07.09.2025

Preliminary Rounds- 26.09.2025 to 27.09.2025

Subsequent Rounds- 04.10.2025 to 05.10.2025
