Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, successfully concluded the Intra-Asian Parliamentary Debate (APD) 2025 held from 17-22 November 2025. Organized by the Student Enrichment Cell – Literary Wing, in collaboration with the Centre for Personal Law Studies, the event witnessed participation from 36 teams (144 participants), making it one of the largest editions to date. The tournament featured multiple competitive rounds including Preliminaries, Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, a Third-Place Playoff, and the Grand Finale, culminating in outstanding displays of analytical reasoning, persuasive argumentation, and academic excellence.
The week-long competition commenced with three preliminary rounds held from 17-19 November 2025, where debaters engaged with a diverse range of contemporary socio-political and legal issues. The Octa-Finals on 20 November witnessed the top 16 teams advancing on the basis of cumulative scores, followed by the Quarter-Finals on 21 November, where eight teams competed for a place in the final stages. The concluding day, 22 November 2025, featured the Semi-Finals, the Third-Place Playoff, and the Grand Finale

The Intra APD 2025 played a pivotal role in fostering critical thinking, structured argumentation, and articulate expression among students, reinforcing the Literary Wing’s commitment to nurturing academic discourse and holistic development at HPNLU, Shimla.
