Deletion of Maharaj

Rajasthan High Court: In a writ petition filed by the petitioners, the Single Judge Bench of Mahendar Kumar Goyal, J., directed the petitioners to file a correct amended cause title deleting the prefixes ‘Maharaj’ and ‘Princess’ from the names of all parties. The Court held that failure to comply with this direction within one week would automatically lead to the dismissal of the writ petitions without further reference to the Court.

The petitions were filed by the Maharaj Prithviraj and Maharaj Jagat Singh through his legal representatives. The Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioners prayed for a week’s time to file the correct amended cause title after deleting the prefixes. The Court allowed the request.

The Court directed that if compliance with the Order was duly made within the stipulated time, the matter was to be listed along with its connected petitions on 13-10-2025, with an express instruction that the prefix ‘Maharaj’ be deleted from the names of the petitioners in the cause list itself prior to the next hearing.
