The Law and Technology Society, NLSIU is proud to announce Consilience 2021, the 20th edition of our flagship Conference, in association with the Alliance of Competition Law Academics (ACLA). This year’s conference focuses on emerging issues in the intersection of Competition Law and Technology as well as Legal Tech Startups.

The Law and Technology Society at the National Law School of India University is the pre-eminent and one of the oldest student-run tech-law groups of the continent. It is committed to developing scholarship in the field of law-tech.

Consilience is our annual academic conference that explores the intersection of legal issues and Technology. Started in the year 2000, it was the first of its kind in India. Over the years, this annual summit has hosted various themes like Artificial Intelligence, Net Neutrality, Cloud Computing, Intermediary Liability, etc., and has featured prominent speakers, including Dr. Gulshan Rai (National Cybersecurity Coordinator, Government of India), Kris Gopalakrishnan (Co-Founder, Infosys), Antony Taubman (Director, IP Division at WTO), Prof. Rahul De (Hewlett-Packard Chair Professor, IIM Bangalore), Pamela Kumar (Chair, Cloud Computing Innovation Council of India), Justice S. Murlidhar (Chief Justice, Orissa High Court), Montek Singh Ahluwalia (Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission of India) and Meenu Chandra (Senior Attorney, Microsoft India), among others.

The Alliance of Corporate Law Academicians (ACLA) is an alliance of scholars passionate about corporate law scholarship. ACLA members are affiliated with public and private law schools in the South Asia region.

The conference will be hosted virtually from the 10th-13th of June. Hon’ble Justice S. Ravindra Bhat (Judge, Supreme Court of India) will be the keynote speaker for the event.  There will be 4 panels spread over the 4 days, dealing with two themes: a) Competition Law and Tech, and b) Legal Tech Startups.
