The Full Court, vide a notification dated 07-08-2025, designated three advocates as Senior Advocates.
Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah is the sitting Judge of the Supreme Court of India. He was elevated to the Supreme Court in February 2023. He has formerly served as a Judge in Patna High Court and Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act, 1961 provides that- an advocate may, with his consent, be designated as senior advocate if the Supreme Court or a High Court is of the opinion that by virtue of his ability, standing at the Bar or special knowledge or experience in law he is deserving of such distinction.
