About Central University of Karnataka

The Central University of Karnataka (CUK) was established by an Act of Parliament (No.3 of 2009) at Kalaburagi, Karnataka. It is one of the 16 new Central Universities established by the Government of India during the GCI Plan Period to address the concerns of ‘equity and access and to increase access to quality higher education’.

The university has a 654-acre campus located near Kadaganchi village in Kalaburagi District, Karnataka State. It is claimed that CUK is the first new university to move to its permanent campus. The primary objective of this growing University is to integrate teaching, learning, training, research, innovation, and skill development, with the aspiration to excel in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral studies.

About the Department of Law

The Department of Law was established in 2019 to set a new benchmark of excellence in higher legal education in India. The objective is to take steady steps towards excellence, striving to become an acclaimed centre of excellence in teaching and research in legal studies, nurturing students’ talents and skills for their inclusive growth, and contributing to the strengthening of the rule of law. Currently, the Department offers BA.LL.B, LL.M., and PhD Courses in Law.

Details of the event

The National Moot Court Competition, 2026, was organised at the national level to provide a platform for law students to showcase their advocacy skills, analytical abilities, and understanding of contemporary legal issues. The competition also aims to promote SDG 16 and public awareness about law and justice.

Eligibility

Open to all students enrolled bona fide on a regular basis in Undergraduate law courses or equivalent conducted by any institution affiliated with the Bar Council of India. Each institution may send a minimum of one team and a maximum of two teams. Each team shall comprise three members (two speakers and one researcher).

Registration/submission procedure

Teams must register via Google Form, then upload a payment receipt and an institutional ID/Bona fide certificate. Memorials must be submitted through the Google Form link provided after confirmation of registration.
