NLUO CBIL Course on Corporate Law and Capital Markets

Through this course, students will gain valuable practical insights into the functioning of capital markets, while also developing a strong understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern them in India. In addition, the course will enable students to deepen their knowledge of financial and banking law through direct engagement with experienced practitioners, thereby bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application and providing a holistic perspective on the interplay between capital markets, banking, and allied financial sectors within India’s financial ecosystem.

The resource person for the course is Mr. Saswat Mohanty, Partner Designate at Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, India. Drawing on his extensive professional expertise, he will offer students a comprehensive understanding of capital markets law and regulation, with a particular focus on recent developments in the field. He has advised both Indian and international clients across diverse sectors such as e-commerce, healthcare, infrastructure, logistics, real estate, and telecom. This course shall prove to be an excellent opportunity for students to learn more about the field of corporate laws and capital markets and shall provide a platform for them to engage with a leading expert in the area.

Duration of the course

The course duration shall be 16 hours which shall be conducted over the span of four weeks with classes being conducted on Fridays and Saturdays of each week. The course will begin on 12th September 2025 and shall continue till 4th October 2025.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the course is ₹500 for both students and professionals who wish to participate. The process of registration is detailed in the brochure attached below.

Payments made via any other payment platform than the one specified above would not be considered as valid registration.

Mode of Instruction

The course will be held in virtual mode to help facilitate greater participation.

Attendance Criteria

Participants are required to maintain a minimum attendance rate of 75% throughout the course, with attendance documented at the conclusion of each module or session. This virtual course mandates that only those meeting the attendance threshold will be eligible to undertake the Assessment Test.

Evaluation Procedure

The evaluation for this course will be conducted through an assessment test carrying a total of 50 marks. The structure of the test will be as follows:

  • 50 Percent: Multiple Choice Objective Questions (MCQs)

  • 50 Percent: Subjective/Descriptive Questions (divided across short and long-answer questions)

The mode of the test shall be online. The timings of the same shall be notified in the due course.

Last Date for Registration

The last date for registration for the course is 10th September 2025. All interested participants are required to complete the registration process by this date. No registrations shall be accepted thereafter.
