On 25-8-2025, the Supreme Court Collegium headed by CJI B.R. Gavai, recommended the name of Justice Shree Chandrashekhar as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court.
If this recommendation is confirmed, the Justice Shree Chandrashekhar will be poised take over the reins from Justice Alok Aradhe, who has been recommended for elevation to the Supreme Court.
Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, whose parent High Court is Jharkhand, was appointed as Additional Judge of the High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi on 17-01-2013 and, as Permanent Judge on 27-06-2014. He was appointed as Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jharkhand with effect from 29-12-2023.
Thereafter he was transferred to Rajasthan High Court and then to Bombay High Court in July 2025.
