
Supreme Court unlocks the right to access documents under PMLA

Supreme Court directed that the Union of India should notify the appellants about the mode and manner in which they could exercise this option and provide information regarding the amounts that the appellants will need to remit if they choose to opt for pension under the Rules.

Supreme Court answered in affirmative that if the status under Section 82 CrPC is nullified i.e., the person subjected to such a proclamation, by virtue of subsequent developments is no longer required to be presented before a Court of law. Then, the prosecution still proceeds against such a person for having not appeared before a Court during the time that the process was in effect.
Supreme Court directed that no college would be permitted to admit the students directly and admission should be conducted only through the State Admission Authorities.
Supreme Court reiterated that where a citizen aggrieved by an action of the government department has approached the court and obtained a declaration of law in his/her favour, others similarly situated ought to be extended the benefit without the need for them to go to court.
