LPG Booking period

On 25 March 2026, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas issued a clarification addressing misleading information circulating regarding alleged changes in LPG refill booking timelines for consumers across the country.

It came to the Government’s notice that certain news reports and social media posts were claiming revised LPG refill booking timelines 45 days for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) connections, 25 days for non-PMUY single-bottle connections, and 35 days for non-PMUY double-bottle connections.

The Government has categorically stated that no such changes have been made. The existing norms continue to be:

  • 25 days for consumers in urban areas

  • 45 days for consumers in rural areas

MoPNG has directed the oil refineries to increase LPG production, divert the surplus to households, and implement a 25-day LPG booking rule.

The Government has advised citizens not to believe or circulate unverified information and reiterated that sufficient LPG stocks are available across the country. A reassured the public, that there is no cause for concern regarding LPG availability or supply.
