On 18-12-2025, the Employee’s State Insurance Corporation (‘ESIC’) issued a circular clarifying the purpose of its earlier communication dated 11-12-2025 regarding the SPREE1 initiative.
In continuation of the official letter, ESIC stated that the earlier circular was issued only to create awareness among employers during SPREE.
It stated that as Central Government has not notified yet Rules and Regulations under the Code on Social Security, 2020. Therefore, any further action regarding compliance2 will be undertaken once Rules and Regulations are notified and operational.
