About the Organizer:

The Debate Society (DEBSOC) at Presidency School of Law, Presidency University, Bengaluru, is a prestigious student body committed to fostering intellectual development, critical thinking, and public speaking. Known for organizing impactful events like Rise and Rhetorize and Chronicles of Oratory, DEBSOC aims to cultivate a community of articulate individuals capable of contributing meaningfully to public discourse.

About the Event:

The Debate Society is proud to announce its flagship event, Vox Populi: The Rhetoric Championship, an All-India Political Party Meet (AIPPM) scheduled for March 28-29, 2026.

This two-day national political simulation brings the pulse of the Indian Parliament to life. Participants will step into the roles of Members of Parliament, championing party ideologies, debating national challenges, and engaging in strategic lobbying. The event is designed to transform classroom understanding of democracy into a hands-on experience of policymaking, negotiation, and legislative strategy.

Event Structure:

The championship mirrors real parliamentary procedures, including:

  • Alliance Formation & Manifesto Drafting: Participants will group into alliances to deliberate on key issues and draft policy visions.

  • Lobbying Sessions: A dedicated Corridor Politics Hour for strategic maneuvering and negotiations.

  • Press Hour: Alliance representatives will face sharp inquiries from the Press Corps regarding their ideologies and leadership.

  • AIPPM Main Session: Presentation of manifestos, coalition building, and voting on the final political bloc.

Eligibility:

The competition is open to students presently enrolled in:

  • Grade XI and XII.

  • Undergraduate programs from any recognized institution across the country.

Awards and Prizes:

The event features a massive prize pool of ₹1,00,000+ along with cash prizes and perks.

  • Best Delegation: ₹35,000/-

  • Runner-up Delegation: ₹25,000/-

  • Best Parliamentarian: ₹6,000/-

  • High Commendation: ₹6,000/-

  • Best Reporter: ₹6,000/-

  • Best Manifesto & Position Paper: ₹6,000/- each

  • Additional awards for Special Mention, Impact Performer, and Best Speaker.

Registration Fees:

  • Individual Delegate: ₹600/-.

  • Delegation (Team of 4): ₹2,200/-.
