ABOUT TNNLU

Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) was established by the Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature (Act No. 9 of 2012) to provide quality legal education at the global level.

ABOUT MOOT COURT COMMITTEE

The Moot Court Committee (MCC) is an integral part of our institution’s commitment in providing a well-rounded legal education. The MCC has a team consisting members from various batches, who carry out various functions such as organizing workshops, conducting moot court competitions, providing guidance & training, facilitating network and exposure, and taking important policy decisions to promote the mooting standards of the University. The MCC presently aims to bring TNNLU to the forefront of mooting and hosts the TNNLU-CCI National Moot Court Competition and the TNNLU-Insolvency National Moot Court Competition.

TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2026.

The Tamil Nadu National Law University is organising the 2nd TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2026 scheduled to take place in hybrid format with the Preliminary Rounds (Online) on 14th February, 2026 and the Advanced Rounds (Offline) on 7th March, 2026.

Venue for Offfline Rounds: TNNLU Campus – Tiruchirapalli.

THEME

This edition focuses on the various nuances in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP), with specific emphasis on the interplay between banking and insolvency laws & regulatory bodies and the connotation of cross-border insolvency, offering participants a rigorous and contemporary insolvency law problem.

ELIGIBILITY

Law students duly enrolled in the 3-year LL.B. courses or 5-year integrated LL.B. courses undergraduate programmes may apply to participate in the Competition. Two (2) teams per Institution/University can participate in the Competition.

REGISTRATION FEES

The teams shall be required to pay a fee of INR 6,000/- (inclusive of Accommodation) towards registration prior to filling of the form and attach proof of payment while filling the Final Registration form provided in the Rulebook. This fee shall be non-refundable in case of withdrawal by a team.

IMPORTANT DATES

The important dates of the 2nd TNNLU National Insolvency Moot Court Competition, 2026 are as detailed below:

  • Last Date for Final Registration: 15th January, 2026.

  • Memorial Submission: 4th February, 2026.

  • Researchers’ Test: 13th February, 2026 (Online).

  • Preliminary Rounds: 14th February, 2026 (Online).

  • Advanced Rounds: 7th March, 2026 (Offline).

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

Final Registration shall be completed January 15th 2026 (11:59 PM) through this form. The event is set to host a limited number of teams, therefore, it is recommended that the interested teams complete the Final Registration as early as possible.
