Mr. Taha Bin Tasneem, a BA.LL.B. graduate from the Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), has been awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue an LL.M. at the University of Cambridge. Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Chevening Scholarship is a fully funded, highly competitive award that supports individuals with exceptional academic records, proven leadership abilities, and a clear vision for creating positive change.
In addition to securing the Chevening Scholarship, Taha received LL.M. offers from several leading institutions, including the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), the University of Reading, and the University of Melbourne in Australia. With the Chevening award, he has chosen to pursue his postgraduate studies at the University of Cambridge.
Taha’s academic and professional journey is marked by excellence, initiative, and global engagement. He has previously worked with Mission Accessibility, an initiative dedicated to upholding the rights of persons with disabilities. Taha has also interned under former Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud. Furthermore, he was selected for the Mitacs Globalinks Research Programme where he interned under Prof. Bernard Duhaime (Professor of International Law), Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada. Apart from these, Taha has gained experience at Trilegal, HSA Advocates, Chambers of Dr. Menaka Guruswamy and Chambers of Mr. Talha Abdur Rehman.
On campus, Taha has been an active participant in various academic and co-curricular initiatives. He has served as the Student Co-ordinator at the Training and Placement Office, as well as the EBC—SCC Online Student Ambassador, where he was instrumental in securing university-wide access to SCC Online, a premier legal research database. He has also contributed significantly as Joint Editor and Co-incharge of the Media and Networking Cell. Taha continues to guide and motivate students at AMU, remaining a consistent source of inspiration for his peers.
