The Government of West Bengal banned the screening of Hindi feature film “The Kerala Story” on 8-5-2023 with immediate effect in the State on account that public exhibition of the film can cause breach of peace, hatred and violence. Considering Sections 6(1) and 4 Proviso of the West Bengal Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1954, the Government prohibited the exhibition of the Film to maintain peace and law and order.
