ABOUT THE NLIU-TRILEGAL SUMMIT ON CORPORATE AND COMMERCIAL LAWS
The Centre for Business and Commercial Laws is thrilled to release the Call for Papers for the 8th edition of one of its most highly anticipated events of the year, the NLIU-Trilegal Summit on Corporate and Commercial Laws, in collaboration with Trilegal.
Slated to be hosted on the 8th and 9th April 2023, on the campus of the National Law Institute University, Bhopal, the NLIU-Trilegal Summit has emerged as a premier corporate law event in the law school circuit over the past 7 years.
Each edition of the summit is an effort to continue the successful legacy of the past editions. The endeavour of the event is to provide students and budding scholars with the opportunity to contribute to the intellectual discourse surrounding the field of corporate and commercial laws. It aims to contribute to the growth of knowledge and research in Emerging Trends in Corporate and Commercial Laws of India, whilst increasing the awareness and aptitude of students in these fields.
THEMES
The submissions are expected to be of contemporary social relevance and must demonstrate high standards of scholarship. Furthermore, authors are encouraged to use the diverse methodology and base their research on the analysis of existing judicial practice, legal instruments, and sources, or based on empirical data. These topics shall broadly include (but are not limited to):

Discussions may also expand upon contemporarily relevant issues, such as leveraged buyouts, rupee-denominated bonds, the rise of NPAs, and asset reconstruction companies.

CATEGORIES OF SUBMISSIONS
Authors may submit manuscripts under any of the following categories:

Long articles – 4000 to 7000 words*
-
Legislative comments – 2000 to 4000*
-
Short articles – 2000 to 4000 words*
-
Case comments – 2000 to 4000 words*
-
Book review – 1000 to 3000 words*
*The word limit is exclusive of the abstract and the footnotes.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions are expected to be the original work of the author and meet high academic standards. The following guidelines ought to be followed:

The title must succinctly encapsulate the topic and explain the body of work;

There must be an abstract (250-300 words) that briefly describes the idea behind the submission, its structure, and the authors’ conclusion(s);

A submission will not be accepted if it has been plagiarized. The NLIU-Trilegal Summit has a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. Please note that any plagiarized submission will be outrightly rejected;
-
Co-authorship is permissible only up to a maximum of two authors. However, co-authorship is not allowed for Case Comments, Legislative Comments, and Book Reviews; and
-
Kindly adhere to the following formatting guidelines:
– The title must be Times New Roman, Font Size 14, in CAPITALS, Bold, aligned
– The text of the main body of the manuscript must be Times New Roman, Font Size 12, 1.5 spacing between lines and automatic spacing between paragraphs, aligned JUSTIFIED.
– We accept citations in the form of footnotes which must be Times New Roman, Font Size 10, spacing 1, aligned JUSTIFIED, OSCOLA 4th Edition.
COPYRIGHT
Submissions made to the NLIU-Trilegal Summit are on an exclusive basis. These submissions must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The contribution presented to and accepted for publication along with the copyrights therein shall be the intellectual property of the NLIU-Trilegal Summit Book and shall vest with it.
AWARDS
With this edition, we will be offering new and exciting awards to the winners! The prizes shall be disclosed in the coming days, so keep an eye out and until then, keep guessing! In the past editions of the Summit, the winners of the First Prize won an all-expense paid trip to Dubai, while both the Runners-Up and Second Runners-Up received internships at Trilegal offices.
ELIGIBILITY AND MODE OF SUBMISSION
Authors must be pursuing their LL.B. (Hons.) / LL.B. / LL.M. from any recognized university for the academic year of 2022-2023, to be eligible to participate in the Summit.
Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts before 11:59 PM on 8 March, 2023, via the google form provided here: https://forms.gle/Yba6GrG5UQeGea7V8
The form must contain the following documents, in addition to the manuscript and personal details and affiliation of the author(s), without which the submission will NOT be accepted: –
– An originality statement, signed by the author(s), declaring that the manuscript is the original work of the author(s);
– A copyright statement, signed by the author(s), whereby the author(s) agrees that the copyright in the work shall vest with CBCL.
Each author will receive an acknowledgment of receipt of their submission from CBCL shortly after submitting.
REGISTRATION
Authors whose papers are selected for presentation at the Summit shall be required to pay an amount of INR 1000 for single-author entries and INR 1500 for co-authored entries.
The Centre will provide accommodation to all the participants.
