The Fifth edition of Justice Dr. B. P. Saraf National Tax Moot Court Competition,  announced to be hosted by the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, in association with the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners [East Zone].

The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners [“AIFTP”] is an all-India association of tax advocates, chartered accountants and tax practitioners. The aim of the Federation is to promote interest, awareness and career opportunities in the field of taxation among Indian citizens. AIFTP achieves its goal by organising conferences, seminars, education events and even moot court competitions. In furtherance of this, AIFTP has partnered with WBNUJS to organise a National Tax Moot Court Competition in honour of Justice Dr. B.P. Saraf.

The objective of the Justice Dr. B.P. Saraf National Tax Moot Court Competition is to foster learning and development in the field of taxation law and student advocacy, by exposing students to experienced practitioners and academicians in the field.

This year, the oral rounds of the moot court competition are scheduled to be held from 20th to 22nd September, 2019, at WBNUJS, Kolkata. In upholding its long tradition of hospitality, our college will provide complimentary accommodation and food for all the participants during the days of the competition.

Registration Procedure:

Confirm the participation of your University in the Moot Court Competition by sending an email to provisionally register to wbnujs.aiftp2019@gmail.com before July 14th, 2019.

  1. Complete the registration process by August 3rd, 2019, by sending in the team details.
  2. Submitting the scanned copy of the Authorisation form and the Demand Draft to wbnujs.aiftp2019@gmail.com.
  3. The hard copies of the Demand Draft and the Authorisation form must be sent to Prof. Tilottama Raychaudhuri, Faculty Advisor, The NUJS Moot Court Society, Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan, 12 LB Block, Sector 3, Salt Lake City, Kolkata (Pin code: 700098) before the deadline.

Last date for provisional registration: July 14, 2019

Last date for Final Registration: August 3, 2019
Memo submission (Soft copy): September 8, 2019
Memo submission (Hard copy): September 13, 2019
Oral Rounds: September 20-22, 2019
