Government has requested all private Satellite TV channels to adhere to the guidelines issued from time to time on the coverage of terror attacks.
Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has issued advisories to broadcast content in strict adherence to Programme and Advertising Code as prescribed in the Cable Television Networks (Regulations) Act, 1995.
In light of the recent incident, TV channels are adviced to be particularly cautious in regard to the content which:
- is likely to encourage or incite violence or contains anything against maintenance of law and order or which promotes anti-national attitude;
- Contains anything affecting the integrity of nation: and ensure that no such content is telecast which violative of these codes.
All private satellite TV channels are requested to ensure strict compliance of the above.
