Outlawed, the annual cultural festival of the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences and the biggest cultural festival in the law school circuit, is back with its fourteenth edition!
Everything good in life is either immoral, illegal or fattening and we welcome everyone to all that is good! The fest packs a riveting experience, day and night, for all participants in this 3 day cultural extravaganza. When the sun is bright, we offer a unique roaster of cultural, literary, and some genre defying events. Come, experience the panoply of colours and gradients that is Kolkata in the Great Kolkata Race, walk the ramp in the Fashionista, show off your groove in The Dance Project or rack your brains in the Open Quiz. In 2018, for the first time, Outlawed hosted the Battle of Bands, an instant hit amongst the enthralled audience. Did we mention the “and walked away with bags of prize money” part? We have a number of other events such as Theatre, Eastern and Western vocals, Face painting, Turncoat debate, etc. Do what you do best and you stand to win big bucks with the substantial increase in prize pool including a best contingent prize! And the sun hasn’t even set yet.
Dusk is the hour of the living and come nightfall, begins the real fun. Outlawed, for its previous StarNites, has hosted stellar performers like Indus Creed, Raghu Dixit Project, Advaita, Junkyard Groove, Ganesh Talkies, Fire on Dawson, Indian Ocean, Pentagram, Dualist Inquiry, Parikrama, MIDIval Punditz, Prateek Kuhaad, The Locan Train, Karsh Kale Collectiv, and Nucleya. But, let us not dwell so much in the past. This year, we intend to raise the bar even higher and are planning to bring on board Madboy/Mink, Sandunes, Farhan Live, Papon and the East India Company and many other amazing artists. With music booming till 3 in the night, all our StarNites are followed by sensational DJ Nights for our participants to grind and groove to the latest techno-electro music as well as hippy Bollywood dance numbers.
Everything aside, we at the WBNUJS, cordially invite your esteemed institution to spend a weekend with us in the heart of the colourful chaos of Kolkata, and participate in our annual cultural festival, Outlawed, to be hosted in February of 2020.
