NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta school of law (KPMSOL), Mumbai that is a part of the SVKM group of schools and colleges under the NMIMS (deemed to be university in Mumbai has been approved by the Bar Council of India in the year 2013 which is also its year of establishment. School of Law inculcates and nourishes all the professional virtues in a well calculated and planned manner, without undermining the ‘societal values’.

The academics and support mechanism in Kirit P. Mehta School of Law is to facilitate all the determined students to give their best so as to be the ‘Best’ when it comes to application of theory in practice. The ‘Legal Skills’ built by SOL during the 5 years period should enrich a student to convert challenges into ‘benchmark’ in legal world and withstand economic, social, political and judicial scrutiny. Qualified faculties and support staff assist learners to easily integrate into the course and participate in events. ABOUT CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND CONFERENCES :

The Centre for Research and Conferences (earlier known as Centre for Excellence) of NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, Mumbai, was established as the Centre for Legal Research and Application, in 2018. The Centre for Research and Conferences aims to significantly enhance legal research and development, through its integration with allied disciplines, and through extensive exploration of contemporary developments in the law.

The Centre for Research and Conferences engages in a discourse between various stakeholders to interact and exchange ideas pertaining to legal academia. The Centre for Research and Conferences undertakes a compendious examination and critical analysis of governmental institutions, executive powers, legal policies, and judicial guidelines. Centre for Research and Conferences endeavours to promote effective ideation and provision of a platform to formulate unconventional and pioneering recommendations to various policy making institutions for making existing legal provisions more humane and functional. All new ideas and innovations emanating from budding legal minds that work towards access to justice are welcomed and will be guided by expert resource persons.

ABOUT THE TWO DAYS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE :

The two-day conference is meticulously designed to offer a comprehensive exploration of contemporary global issues, blending the insights of legal experts and practitioners with the fresh perspectives of students, researchers, and academicians. We are honoured to announce that the Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla, has graciously accepted our invitation to serve as the esteemed Chief Guest for the inauguration of the International Conference organised by the Centre for Research and Conferences, NMIMS School of Law, Mumbai, scheduled to take place on 16th and 17th February 2024.

The first day of the event promises a riveting Panel Discussion featuring Judges, Advocates, and representatives from prominent Law firms. TIMELINES OF THE CONFERENCE

  • 10th January 2024: Last date of Abstract Submission.

  • 15th January 2024: Date of communication of Acceptance of the Abstract.

  • 31st January 2024: Last date for Registration and Payment.

  • 10th February 2024: Last date for Full Paper Submission.

  • 16th & 17th February 2024:International Conference.

MODE OF CONFERENCE:

Conference will be held in hybrid mode (both online and offline).

GUIDELINES FOR THE ABSTRACTS:

  1. Abstracts should not exceed 350 words. (word format)

  2. Font and Font Size: Times New Roman, 12, Line spacing 1.5 and Alignment ‘justify’.

  3. Abstract should mention the following specific details on the front page:

    • Name of the Author

    • Affiliation

    • Designation

    • Contact Number

    • Email Id

    • Title of the Submission

GUIDELINES FOR RESEARCH PAPERS:

  1. Original research papers are welcomed in the above- mentioned topic but are not restricted to the sub-theme as given.

  2. The paper can be co-authored. However, a maximum of two co-authors (three authors) per entry is allowed.

  3. The author (s) shall specify in their submission:

    • Title of the paper with the sub-theme.

    • Names of author (s).

    • Name of the College/University. Email address and contact number.

    • Sub-theme under which submission is made.

  4. The abstract and the Full paper should be submitted in doc/docx format with the following specification:

    • Length of Full Paper: 2500 – 6000 words

    • Font Type: Times New Roman Font

    • Size: 12 pts

    • Line spacing: 1.5

    • Footnotes Font Types: Times New Roman

    • Footnotes: Font size: 10 pts

    • Footnotes Line spacing: 1

    • Margin to be 1 inch on all sides.

    • Follow the Bluebook; A Uniform System of Citation (20th Edition) for footnoting.

  5. A presentation will be made by the authors through PPT or any other means of presentation, upon selection of their manuscript. The Presentation should be of a maximum of 10 minutes.

  6. All submissions should be original and non-plagiarized work and should not have been submitted for publication/published elsewhere in any form. Similarity should not be more than 20%.

  7. Plagiarism report shall be checked by Turnitin.

FEE PAYMENT:

1) FOR AUTHORS

  • Single Student Author: ₹700

  • Student Co-authors (2): ₹1200

  • Student Co-authors (3): ₹1600

  • Professionals/Academicians/Research Scholars: ₹1200

STEP1: The registration fees need not be paid by all applicants. Once the communication of acceptance of abstract is made, the selected authors shall be provided with the bank details in order to complete the registration through the payment as per the above-mentioned criteria.

STEP 2: Fill out the registration form with all of the necessary information and add the screenshot of the payment details.

2) FOR PARTICIPATION ONLY

  • Students: ₹400

  • Professionals/Academicians/Research Scholars: ₹400

All those who want to attend the conference only for the purpose of participation need to fill out the Google form for Participation only, the bank details shall be provided to all to complete the registration process.

NOTE: Such students, academicians, professionals or research scholars are not required to make any type of submission or presentation at the conference.

ACCOMODATION:

Registration fee does not include accommodation, travel (international/national and local transportation). Although we will assist the participants with the details regarding logistics/possible accommodation nearby.

REGISTRATION:

For Abstract: Paper presenters are required to send their abstract of the paper in word doc. format with the subject “Abstract submission- Name of paper presenters” attached to the google form provided.

For Author’s Registration: Authors are required to register for the event using the following link.

For Paper: Paper presenters are required to send their papers in word doc. format. The paper should be attached to the google form provided herein.

For Participation only: Participants are required to register for the event using the following link.

On registration, each participant shall be provided with a unique three-digit Code (e.g. T01, T02, etc.) which shall be used by both the CRC and the participants over the course of the conference.

PRIZES AND AWARDS:

First Best Paper: Rs. 10,000/-

Second Best Paper: Rs. 5,000/-

Best Presenter: Rs. 5,000/-

Best Female Presenter: Rs. 5,000/-

  • Certificate/ E-Certificate will be provided to every Participant.

  • Certificate of Merit will be provided to 10 best paper presentations.

  • Other Selected papers will be published in a journal with ISSN number.

  • Authors of the 2 best papers will be provided with an opportunity to intern at Stratage Law Partners.

  • Authors of 3rd and 4th best papers will be provided internship in a tier 1 or 2 law firm.

  • Author of 5th to 14th best papers will be provided internship in Dhir & Dhir Associates.

Note : Author has to pay the Fee for the publication in the journal.
