NUJS emerged as the winner of the Runners’ Up Prize (Mediation Category) in the third edition of the prestigious NLUJ Deal Mediation Competition

The team comprising of Astha Rath, Shrijaya Singh, and Rudra Athray has emerged as the winner of the Runners’ Up Prize (Mediation Category) in the third edition of the prestigious NLUJ Deal Mediation Competition, 2022. Astha, and Shrijaya are third-year students, and Rudra is a second-year student from the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata. Rudra represented the team in the quarter-final, semi-final, and the final rounds of the competition.

The competition was organized by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the National Law University, Jodhpur in association with Khaitan & Co. With participation from different universities, the WBNUJS team emerged as the winners of the Runners’ Up Prize (Mediation Category) in this prestigious Mediation Competition.

 

SLS Pune wins CNLU CCI National Moot Court Competition, 2022

The team representing Symbiosis Law School, Pune, comprising of Adishree Singh and Dharani Maddula as speakers, and Shambhavi Sirothia, have emerged as the Winners of the CNLU CCI National Moot Court Competition 2022, organized in association with Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan attorneys and the Competition Commission of India. Adishree Singh was also adjudged as Best Speaker and the team bagged the Best Memorial Award as well.

The moot was organized by Chanakya National Law University from the 11th-13th March, 2022, the subject matter being Data Privacy and Competition Law. The jury for the final round included Justice Anjana Mishra, Ms. Charanya Lakshmikumaran, Mr. Prarbdha R. Jaipuriar, Ms. Neelambera Sandeepan, and Mr. Ved Prakash. The event was virtually attended by ex-Supreme Court Judge and present NCLAT Chairperson, Justice Ashok Bhushan.

 

RGNUL wins VIII NLS NMC (Negotiation, Mediation & Client Counselling) Competition

A team of Srajan Yadav, Rohan Gajendra Pratap Singh and Harsheeta Rai Sharma, representing Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), have emerged as the ‘Best Client-Attorney’ in the VIII NLS NMC (Negotiation, Mediation & Client Counselling) Competition. The Competition is a flagship event of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), and spanned over five days (from 28th April to 2nd May, 2022), with 100+ rounds conducted cumulatively.

Having the reputation of being one of the most promising and fast-growing ADR Competitions in the Asia-Pacific region, the Competition witnessed the participation of 80 competitive teams in the four different segments, and was adjudged by luminaries from 10+ countries. A panel of Romesh Sarkar and Kainaat Pundir adjudged the semifinal rounds, while the finals were assessed by Kathleen Ruane Leedy, Fidana Alieva and Amrita Tonk. The winning team also won a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. The Competition had unique and thought-provoking problems of Commercial Mediation drafted by experts, that were based on a broad spectrum of themes such as space travel, compulsory licensing of drugs, and others.

 

RGNUL wins 7th Symbiosis International Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition

The team comprising Madhumita J, Shagnik Mukherjea and Mouli Sharma representing Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab emerged as winners of the 7th Symbiosis International Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition, 2022 organized by Symbiosis Law School, Pune. The Competition was held from 21st to 24th April, among 21 teams from law schools all over the country. After some grueling and intensely fought prelims and semi-final rounds, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Llyod Law College, and Symbiosis Law School, Noida went on to qualify for the final round. Finally, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab were adjudged as winners. The team was also awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 60,000. Additionally, Madhumita J was also adjudged the Best Advocate of Finals and was awarded Rs. 10,000 for the same.

The final rounds were adjudged by an eminent panel of judges including Barrister Tapas Kanti Baul, Prosecutor, International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh, Hon’ble Justice Pradeep Singh Yerur, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Dr. Namira Negm, Director of the African Migration Observatory, Dr. Umesh Kadam, Regional Legal Advisor at International Committee of the Red Cross and Dr. Pemmaraju Sreenivasa Rao, Special Advisor Attorney-General Office, State of Qatar.

 

VIPS emerged as the winner at 4th BENNETT National Moot Court Competition

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, Delhi (VIPS) has emerged victorious as the Winners of the IVth Bennett Online National Moot Court Competition, 2022 hosted by the Bennett University, Greater NOIDA.

The Team comprising of 4th year B.A., LL.B. students – Mr. Pritthish Roy, Ms. Pankhuri Pankaj, and Ms. Vinny Pradhan represented VIPS and won the Winner’s Trophy. Additionally, Mr. Pritthish Roy was adjudged as the Best Speaker in the competition.

With the University’s every moot revolving around the theme of Law and Technology, this year’s moot problem focussed upon the contemporary issues regarding the constitutionality of Cryptocurrency and encouraged all participants to discover the numerous hurdles posed by this technological advancement which spanned from the right to privacy, challenges in data protection and its governance.

The three-day competition was hosted virtually by the University from 11th to 13th February 2022. However, the journey started months prior, with the commencement of a nationwide memorial selection process which led to the narrow selection of the top 24 teams.

The final round was between the University Institute Of Legal Studies, Punjab University, and Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, which was adjudged by Prof. Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, Director- Indian Law Institute, Mr. Atmaram S. Nadkarni, Sr. Advocate, Supreme Court of India & former Additional Solicitor General of India and Prof. Dr. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Professor & Dean, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir.

USLLS wins 10th RGNUL National Moot Court Competition, 2022

The team comprising of Archi Aggarwal, Nishant Anshul and Stuti Singh from the University School of Law and Legal Studies, New Delhi has won the 10th RGNUL National Moot Court Competition, 2022! The competition was held from the 1st to the 3rd April, 2022.
