Supreme Court orders AAP to vacate Delhi office premises on land allotted to Delhi HC by 15 June

AAP Delhi Office

Supreme Court: The Supreme Court has ordered Aam Aadmi Party (‘AAP’) to vacate its headquarters at Rouse Avenue in Delhi by 15-06-2024. The said premises were said to be earmarked for Delhi Judiciary to expand its footprint.

The Court further permitted AAP to pursue allotment of land for its offices from the Land and Development Office and directed the agency to process AAP’s request within 4 weeks and convey its decision.

The instant matter pertained to judicial infrastructure and AAP’s alleged encroachment of land allotted to Delhi High Court, which was reportedly in urgent need of allotment of premises for housing the new recruits for whom courtrooms were not available.
