On 25-8-2025, the Supreme Court Collegium led by CJI B.R. Gavai in its meeting, recommended elevation of the afore-stated Chief Justices of Bombay and Patna High Courts, respectively as Judges in the Supreme Court:
At present, the working strength of the Supreme Court is at 32 Judges after the retirements of Justice Bela Trivedi and Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia. With the above appointments confirmed by the Law Ministry, the Court will function at its full strength of 34 Judges.
