Amika Arbitration and Mediation Council Earns UNCITRAL Recognition

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad-based Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) institution, Amika Arbitration and Mediation Council (AAMC) has been recognised by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) thereby becoming one of only four Indian arbitration institutions to have received such recognition.

The AAMC Registrar Dr. P. Madhava Rao revealed in a press release that the international body had approved the council’s arbitration rules for international trade disputes after a rigorous three-month evaluation and revision process.

The Amika Arbitration and Mediation Council (AAMC) was established in pursuance of the recommendations of the Justice Sri Krishna Committee to institutionalise arbitration in India, serving as a dedicated wing of Amika, a society for alternative dispute resolution. Over the last five years, AAMC has established itself as a leading provider of ADR services with round 500 registered cases. It has become well-known throughout the Telugu states, particularly in family dispute resolution.
