ABOUT APEX SCHOOL OF LAW

Apex School of Law, Apex University, Jaipur is a realization of dreams of the great visionary late Dr. S. M. Juniwal. We feel proud being a part of the oldest Education Society in the country i.e. Sanjay Shiksha Samiti, established in the year 1965. Apex School of Law has advocated excellence in legal education and is credited as one of the best Legal education providers in India. Apex School of Law is running Ph.D. in law/LL.M(Two Year Degree Course)/ LL.B (Three Years Degree Course) and BA.LL.B (Five Years Integrated Course) which are approved by The Bar Council of India and is constituent college of Apex University, Jaipur. The Apex School of Law is imparting legal education to educate and train students at under graduate level to achieve outstanding ability to become leaders in the legal profession. The Law School is also making an efforts to build the overall personality of the students by associating them in various academic activities which are mandate as a part of curriculum like Moot-Court Competition, Mock Parliament, Debates, and organizing extension lectures by the legal luminaries of outstanding caliber and valuable experience from time to time.

ABOUT JAIPUR

ABOUT RANKA PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST

  • The Trust was set up by Late Dr. N. M. Ranka, Senior Advocate in the year 1980. Major activities undertaken by the Trust are as follows:

  • To promote the GANDHIAN PHILOSOPHY and to motivate the citizens, students, teachers, judicial officers, lawyers and litigants, the Trust has installed 49 statues of Mahatma Gandhi all over India at various premises including at High Courts of Rajasthan, Orissa, Kerala, Karnataka & Gauhati, District Courts, Central Jails, Universities and Colleges.

  • The Trust has adopted Government Upper Primary School, Ramnagariya, Jaipur wherein approximately around 200 students from the lowest strata of society are getting free education with boarding facilities.

  • The Trust in order to promote tax education and awareness, gives RANKA BEST TAX CONFERENCE AWARD under the banner of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners, Mumbai to deserving Tax Bar Associations.

  • The Trust is publishing books. Such books are freely distributed all over India. Till now more than 25,000 copies have been distributed List of books printed and published are:

  • The Trust has pioneered the Moot Court Competitions in Jaipur and more than 20 competitions have been organized in collaboration with Five Year Law College of Rajasthan University, University Law College, Jaipur, Manipal University, Jaipur, Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur and SGT University, Gurugram.

  • The trust also provides scholarship to needy students and provides free medicines and food to poor patients from time to time.

  • The Trust also grants donation to likeminded Trusts carrying out works of philanthropy, education, old age homes, etc.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The competition shall be open to students who are pursuing an integrated 5-year LL.B. program or pursuing a 3-year LL.B. program from recognized University/Institution approved by Bar Council of India.

  • Each team shall consist of 3 members, (two ‘Speakers’ and one ‘Researcher’) or 2 members (two ‘Speakers’ and out of these two, one speaker has to be designated as a researcher as well). Maximum of 3 members and minimum of 2 members in a team are allowed.

  • Only one team from any College/Law School/Institution is allowed to participate in the Competition.

  • No additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.

  • 20th August 2025: Release of brochure & Moot Proposition

  • 25th September 2025: Last date of Early Bird Registration & Fee Payment (20% Discount)

  • 10th October 2025: Last date of Registration & Fee Payment

  • 22nd September 2025: Last date to seek clarifications

  • 29th September 2025: Release of Clarification

  • 25th October 2025: Last date of submit soft copy of memorials

  • 10th November 2025: Last date to submit hard copy of memorials

  • 14th November 2025: Draw of lots & exchange of memorials

  • 15th November 2025: Inaugural ceremony, Preliminary Round 1 & 2

  • 16th November 2025: Quarter Finals, Semi-Final Round and Cultural Night

  • 17th November 2025: Final Round, Researcher Test and Valedictory Ceremony

Each team shall submit the registration fee of INR 6000 Registration fee with Accommodation (boarding and lodging) and INR 4000 without Accommodation once submitted will not be refunded in any case. Early Bird Registration fee discount is 20%.

SUBMISSION OF MEMORIALS

  • Participants have to send the soft copy of the Memorials, one from the Petitioner and one from the respondent side (both in Word (.docx/.doc) and PDF format).

  • Soft Copy of the memorials shall be sent to the given mail id: mootcourt@apexuniversity.co.in with the subject “Memorials for Team Code”. The file names of the electronic copies of the Memorials must contain only the team code and the side being represented in the following format: e.g. (for Team Code TC08): TC08 (P) or TC08(R). The content of the memorials should not differ from the content of the soft copies submitted to the Organizers. The last date to send the soft copy of the memorial is October 25, 2025 by (23:59 hours IST).

  • Last date for receiving of hard copies of each of the memorial from all participants will be November 10, 2025 by (23:59 hours IST).

  • The teams must send Four Hard Copy (2 Petitioners & 2 Respondents) of their Memorials from each side to the following address-: Dean, Apex School of Law, Apex Girl’s Hostel, Shipra Path, Mansarovar, Jaipur, and Rajasthan, India 302020.

  • Identification mark of any type shall attract a severe penalty.

  • The copies of the memorials must bear cover page in conformity with the following scheme:

    1. Blue-Appellant/ Petitioner

    2. Red —Respondent

  • No amendment to the memorial will be permitted after submission. Teams are not permitted to raise arguments in the oral rounds that are not present in the memorial.

  • Each memorial shall consist of the following heads in the same order as is mentioned here.

  • Each memorial shall consist of the following details on the cover page:

  • Team code on the top right-hand corner of the cover page. Memorials without the team code will not be evaluated.

  • Name and place of the forum.

  • Name of the parties and their status.

  • Memorial filed and the party that the team is appearing on behalf of.

  • The following content specification must be adhered to:

  • Language-English Font and Size (Body)-Times New Roman, 12 pts

  • Line spacing (Body)-1.5 lines

  • Font and Size (Footnotes)-Times New Roman, 10 pts

  • Line Spacing (Footnotes)-Single Line

  • Page Margins-1 inch on all sides

  • Paper Specification-White A4 Sized Paper Body of the Memorial-Justified

  • Citation style-Bluebook (20th Edn.)

  • The memorial shall not be of more than fifty (50) pages and the Arguments advanced shall not exceed more than thirty (30) pages.

  • The Memorial must be spiral bound ONLY. The Memorial must not contain any Annexure/Photographs/Sketches/ Exhibits/Affidavits etc.

  • AWARDS

    • Winning Team Award: The winning team will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 31,000/- with 1year Subscription of SCC Learning

    • Runners-Up Award: The runners-up will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 21,000/-

    • Speaker: Best Student speaker will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 5100/-

    • Best Researcher: Best Researcher will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 5100/-

    • Best Memorial: Best Memorial will get a trophy and certificate of appreciation with a cash prize of Rs. 11,000/-

    • Certificates of participation shall be given to all the participants.

    • The participation certificates will not be provided to any participant who is not present at the Prize Distribution Ceremony and the same shall not be sent by post/courier to participants under any circumstances.

    ACCOMMODATION

    The organizers will provide boarding and lodging facilities from any misconduct at the venue or the place of accommodation shall result in disqualification of the team from the accommodation.

    DRESS CODE

    Inside the court room the participant shall follow the below mentioned dress code.

    Females: White salwar kurta & Dupatta or white shirt and black trousers along with black coat and tie.

    Males: white shirt, black trousers, black tie along with black coat and Black shoes.

    COMPETITION ROUNDS

    There shall be two preliminary rounds, quarter finals, semifinals and a final round spreading over a period of 3 days.

    PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

    • There shall be two Preliminary rounds. In the two Preliminary Rounds, the Participating teams shall argue for both the sides. The team which argues from one side in the first preliminary Round shall argue from another in the second Preliminary Round.

    • The pairing of teams for the Preliminary Rounds shall be done by a draw of lots by the competition Organization Committee. No two teams shall argue against each other more than once in the Preliminary Rounds.

    • Each Team will be given the opposing team’s Memorials after the draw of lots. No team shall be provided any information regarding the identity of the opposing teams or any other team participating in the Competition.

    • The selection of the top 8 teams for the Quarter Final Rounds shall be based on total number of wins as well as the ‘total scores’ of teams after conclusion of both the Preliminary rounds.

    • First, the team with the higher total score after the two preliminary rounds shall be ranked higher. While deciding the Quarter finalists the wins secured by teams in both rounds will also be taken into consideration along with the scores, such that, the team with 2 wins in the preliminary rounds will be ranked higher than the team with a single win.

    • Second, for teams that have the same total round score and wins in the preliminary rounds, the team with the higher aggregate absolute speaker scores shall be ranked higher.

    • Lastly, if two teams have the same total round score, same wins and the same aggregate absolute speaker scores in the preliminary rounds, then the team with the higher memorial scores shall be ranked high.

    QUARTER FINALS

    • In the Quarter-Final, each Participating Team shall be assigned to argue for one side i.e., each team shall argue only once against the team determined by and for the side decided by a draw of lots.

    • Each Team will be given the opposing team’s Memorials after the draw of lots.

    • No team shall be provided any information regarding the identity of the opposing teams or any other team participating in the Competition.

    • It shall be a knockout round. The winner of each round shall move to the semifinal. Four (4) teams shall move to semi-finals.

    • In case of tie between teams, in quarter finals, the aggregate total of the marks of memorials (appellant and respondent) of the teams shall be counted. Team with highest marks moves ahead.

    SEMI FINALS/FINAL

    • The selection of 4 teams for the Semi-Final Round and of 2 teams for the Final Round shall be on a ‘knock-out’ basis.

    • Four (4) teams shall compete in semifinals. It shall be a knock out round. The winner of each semifinal round shall move to the Final round.

    • The criteria of marking in this round are aggregate total of the marks of both the speakers.

    • In case of tie between teams, in semifinals, the aggregate total of the marks of memorials (appellant and respondent) of the teams shall be counted.

    • Team with the highest marks moves ahead. There shall be one (1) FINAL ROUND. The marking criteria in Final Round is the same as that of semi-finals.
