One Day International Seminar on Protection of Child Rights and Law Relating to women empowerment in India

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam in Collaboration with The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Maharashtra National University, Nagpur and National Law University Judicial Academy is organising One Day International Seminar on Protection of Child Rights and Law Relating to Women Empowerment in India at The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi on 12th January,2020.

Our first International Seminar on ‘Women and Law’ was organized on January 13, 2018. The Seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health and family Welfare, Government of India, Dr. Adish C. Aggarawala, President International Council of Jurists, London, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Vats, then Professor of Law, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.

The second event was organised on June 16, 2018 on ‘Protection of Women and Child Rights: Issues and Challenges’. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Shri Suresh Prabhu, Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Civil Aviation, Government of India in the presence of Dr. Adish C. Aggarawala, President International Council of Jurists, London, Prof. (Dr.) Mool Chand Sharma, Former Professor of Law, University of Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Vijedner Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur. 

The third event was organized on 2nd December, 2018 on “Human Rights & Persons with Disabilities”. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Rekha Palli, Hon’ble Judge, High Court of Delhi, Delhi in august presence of Dr. Adish C. Aggarawala, President International Council of Jurists, London, Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice- Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice- Chancellor, Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Vats, Professor of Law, National Law University, Nagpur. 

The fourth event was organised on 12th January, 2019 ‘Protection of Women and Child Rights: Issues and Challenges’. The Seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Pratibha M. Singh, Judge, High Court of Delhi in presence of Hon’ble Smt. Rekha Sharma, Chairperson, National Commission of Women, New Delhi, Hon’ble Shri Priyank Kanoongo, Chairperson, NCPCR- New Delhi, Dr. Adish C. Aggarawala, President International Council of Jurists, London, Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice- Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Director, The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Vats, Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. The Valedictory session was presided by Hon’ble Shri. Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Civil Aviation & Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, New Delhi in august presence of Shri Rakesh Srivastava, Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development, GOI, New Delhi, Shri Deepak Kumar, CEO, Central Adoption Resource Authority, GOI, New Delhi, Ms Salona Lutchman, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Cape Town, South Africa. All the events were successful and attended by Members of Bench and Bar, Eminent Jurists, Teachers and Students. 

The fifth event was organised on 14th & 15th June, 2019 ‘Challenges and Prospects of ADR’. The Seminar was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice K. G Balakrishnan, Former Chief Justice of India, Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Kumar Vats, Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. The Valedictory session was presided by Hon’ble Shri. Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice- Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. All the events were successful and attended by Members of Bench and Bar, Eminent Jurists, Teachers and Students.
