New Delhi |April 1, 2026: Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. (SAM) advised Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) in relation to its joint venture with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) for the development of a 500 MW solar power project in Rajasthan.
The joint venture, structured with an equity participation of 74:26 between IGL and RVUNL respectively, is aimed at setting up large-scale solar power infrastructure, with the 500 MW project being the first phase of a broader renewable energy collaboration between the parties.
The transaction reflects a growing focus on clean energy investments and the development of sustainable infrastructure in India, particularly through collaborations between public sector entities and energy companies.
