On 17-11-2025, the Department of Urban Development of Delhi, the Delhi Jal Board, issued a notification amending the Delhi Water Board Act, 1998 vide which it revised the rate of Late Payment Surcharge on the outstanding water/ sewer bills. This provision came into effect on 17-11-2025.
After the amendment, the rate of Late Payment Surcharge on the outstanding water/ sewer bills has been reduced to 2% whereas earlier, the rate was 5%.
